Excel and WhatsApp vs an app for your field team
Many small businesses run their field team on a shared Excel sheet and a WhatsApp group: location pins for attendance, messages for updates, a sheet for follow-ups. It costs nothing and everyone knows how to use it. It stops working when the team grows past what one person can read, and when you need a record you can check later.

What breaks first
| Job | Excel + WhatsApp | Meazurable WorkLogger |
|---|---|---|
| Attendance | A location pin in the group, if someone remembers. Nobody compiles it until salary day. | Punch in and out with GPS and address. Absentees marked every night. |
| Follow-ups | A column in a sheet that is out of date by Wednesday. | Each person's list for today on their phone. Missed ones come back at 9 AM. |
| Proof of visits | A photo in the chat, with no link to the customer. | A GPS check-in linked to the customer follow-up. |
| Travel allowance | The kilometres the salesman writes down. | Road distance through the day's check-ins, worked out every night. |
| Service reports | A paper form photographed and sent days later. | Filled on the phone, signed by the customer, PDF sent from site. |
| AMC renewals | Someone checks the sheet, or the customer calls with a breakdown. | Reminders 60, 30 and 7 days before the end date. |
| When someone leaves | The customer history leaves with their phone. | Every enquiry and visit stays on the customer's timeline. |
When Excel and WhatsApp are enough
- You have three or four people in the field and you speak to each of them every day.
- You don't pay a travel allowance by the kilometre.
- You don't sell maintenance contracts.
What it costs to switch
₹250 per user per month. For a team of 10, that is ₹2,500 a month. We do the setup and import your customer sheet, so your team starts on the app within days.
